Dance Style

Urban Kiz

A modern evolution of Kizomba, creative, dynamic, danced to R&B and Hip Hop.

Urban Kiz is a couple dance that derived from Kizomba, danced in a linear motion. It covers every style in the kizomba scene that is NOT the traditional way of dancing - French Style, Kizomba 2.0, Urban Kizomba, New Style Kizomba, Tetris Style, Kizomba Fusion - all fall under Urban Kiz.

The name Urban Kiz was created in 2015, influenced by Ghetto Zouk music and remixes from R&B, Rap, and Hip Hop. Every dancer brings their own background and creativity, resulting in many Urban Kiz styles.

The main differences from Kizomba: no chest connection, linear motion instead of circular, R&B music with breaks instead of flowing Kizomba music, and more dynamic stiff movements versus Kizomba's fluid flow.
